For this project, I followed Montreal Confections Tutorial. I used my go to sugar cookie recipe. Before I baked the apples off, I used a bubble tea straw to cut out a hole in the apple, to insert the gummy worm in after they are all decorated and dried overnight. I used red flood consistency royal icing with wilton tip #2. I used flood consistency brown royal icing for the stem, and stiff green royal icing for the leaf, using tip #354. The white, pink and black icing were also flood consistency. I got the candy googly eyes from bulk barn or you can get them at Walmart. But if you don’t want the googly eyes, you can just pipe the eyes in black, like shown in below as another option. I liked that better actually. For next time I would just pipe the eyes! These were super fun to make! If the gummy worm ends up not being able to fit into the hole, you can carve the hole a little bigger from the back of the cookie. The cookies are soft enough to do this. Enjoy!
